Installation Tool Kit

Takedown Pin Installation Tool Kit

This installation tool kit is available for purchase so anyone can swap the takedown pin without removing the receiver extension.

Also works equally well for the removal of the front pivot pin.

Detent Pick

The pick is used to raise the detent so the rear takedown pin can be drifted out. Also works on front pivot pins.

Pin Drift

The drift is used to push out the takedown pin after the detent has been raised from the pin channel.

First, push the pin in about 1/8" so that the detent pops out of the divot. Then, lay the flat portion of the pick in the pin channel and hold it in place.

Next, while holding the pick in place, push the pin inward until the detent rides up the flat of the shaft.

Now, rotate the pin and the detent pick so the channel is pointing upward.

DO NOT REMOVE THE TAKEDOWN PIN.

Once the takedown pin is rotated into position, insert the drift into the hole on the opposite side of the receiver.

Push the takedown pin out of the receiver with the drift, as you hold the drift and pin together as one unit.

DO NOT PULL ON THE TAKEDOWN PIN

The drift will keep the detent and spring in place while you ready your CAM.

In reverse of Step 5, push the drift with your CAM about halfway and then rotate it until the detent pops into the pin channel. There should be an audible click.

Lastly, remove the drift and enjoy your new CAM
