Talon
(patent pending)
If you like to run the Endomags or the Exomags in your 9mm blowback PCC, but do not care for the ejector being integral to the magazine, the Talon or Talon XL may be just what you have been looking for. Laser cut from 3/16" thick 4130 alloy sheet stock and then milled, drilled and formed into shape, each Talon is then hardened and parkerized for durability.
Simply swap out the existing bolt stop with the Talon, pin on a 9mm upper, and go shooting. If you want to revert back to 5.56, or 300 BLK, or whatever, all you need to do is swap the Talon back for the original bolt stop and pin the appropriate upper. To make the transition as simple as possible, we offer threaded bolt stop pins as well as the tools to install them in the store.
Ejector
Upon witnessing a potential disaster when a new shooter "cleared" his 9mm PCC after dropping the Endomag, it was apparent that something must change. The Talon eliminates the integral ejector of Exo and Endomags, and those safety concerns therein.

The Talon XL is indicated for PCC's with the short ejection port.
Bolt Stop
While designing the Talon and Talon XL, issues with the bolt stop were also addressed. An increase in height provides for positive LRBHO reliability. The heat treated/oil quenched and tempered 4130 is far superior to any mim/cast part when it comes to PCC bolt abuse.

Mean Arms Endomag
The Endomag made it easy to convert your AR-15 into a 9mm PCC, but the ejector being integral to the magazine has raised concerns with the manual of arms/clearing the weapon when there are still rounds in the magazine.
The Talon and Talon XL are compatible with the blowback Endomags and Exomags, provided the ejector has been removed, as shown. In some cases you may also need to knock the sharp edge off the corner of the Magpul body residing under the ejector.
CMMG mag w/Talon
The Talon with a CMMG 9mm magazine designed for use with their radial delayed blowback system. The original Talon is indicated for use with upper receivers with a full length ejection port.

CMMG mag w/Talon XL
The Talon XL is indicated for use with the dedicated AR-9 uppers with a short ejection port.
Exomag w/Talon XL
Endomags or Exomags, the Talon or the Talon XL function with either, choose based on your style of upper.

Bolt Alignment
Every Talon ejector/bolt stop is checked for alignment and function on an Aero Precision lower with a Fail Zero 9mm blowback bolt. Shown is the Talon XL in a PCC upper with the short ejection port.
L.R.B.H.O.
Both the Talon and Talon XL provide for positive last round bolt hold open when the magazine is indeed empty. The L.R.B.H.O. activation pin is located so that the ejector/bolt stop will not budge until the last round has been fired.

Bolt Stop Height
The height of the typical AR-15 bolt stop can be a problem with blowback PCC's (image #1) due to the design of the 9mm bolt. To address this issue, the Mean Arms/CMMG magazine follower begins to lift the bolt stop with a round still remaining (image #3 and #5). Since the ejector of the Talon is integral to the bolt stop, we increased the height of the stop (image #2) and then positioned the L.R.B.H.O. activation pin so a magazine follower cannot engage the bolt stop unless the mag is empty (image #4).
Bolt Compatibility
During the R&D process of the Talon we encountered an odd 9mm bolt with a peculiar ejector channel design. This particular bolt has two steps, rather than a radius, at the rear of channel. The Talon requires a bolt with an ejector channel with a radius, as shown on the Fail Zero bolt.
One other oddity of the bolt in question, the bolt weight is held in place with a setscrew on top of the bolt instead of the typical roll pin.

Knurled and Park'd
A straight knurling is embossed into the surface of the bolt release to provide some texture, after which a manganese phosphate parkerizing is applied to match other controls.
